How Gabrielle Gonyou makes me feel.

Gabrielle is a girl that can take my breath away without even being in my presence. All I have to do is think of her and my heart begins to rush a little faster. This is to say that since I met her my heart has been beating at a higher tempo consistently. I don't believe any other human being could ever even come close to causing me the same amount of joy. Her efforts to make our life together better are unsurpassed and always place me in a state of awe. She is the ideal.

Observations.

I am a man who was born to a lovely Mom and Dad and joined to many amazing siblings; each with their own unique and wonderful gifts. As these people grew up and older they began to know who they were as people and what their place in the world was. In turn these people began attaching themselves to, not only other people, but also to feelings, emotions, states of mind and locations. As we grew together and closer our bonds strengthened and we saw that we were learning to know each other and loved who these people were in turn. Although these people and their respective families loved each other dearly, opinions and assumptions had a way of creeping in. Of course this is human nature and a part of it that I don't necessarily find a bad thing at all, but as I have grown and watched and yes, been a part of a number of these situations I always find it difficult to attach myself very closely to either side of an argument or disscusion. Reason being that I find my perception changes as time moves on and I've begun to realise that these "things" come and go.

Recently my wife and I posted one such an opinion on our blogspot. This blog was written with a rather small view of a large thing in porportion. What I'm trying to say is that the two people that contributed to the posting of this particular blog did not consider the whole picture, so to speak. Not completely taking into account many individuals attachements and opinions to said "thing", left a number of parties with broken hearts and feelings. These opinions and indeed, facts (a persons home has a lot to do with who they are), caused more damage than was possibly perceived by either and all parties involved at the time.

Now, the most important discovery for me through this particular situation was how much people need people to need and want them and what they are attached to. Gabrielle and I want and need all of our family members and their respective attachments and in turn wish to convey that we understand and know now that you all, want and need us and our respective attachments. We're sorry and more importantly we love you all the most.

since our last post, we've realized that we've offended quite a few people. please understand that our dislike towards calgary is really only about the city itself. we actually really enjoyed our time in calgary, because it was spent visiting with people we loved. in fact we would be happy to go again if it meant visiting the same people. below is a list of all the fun things we did while we were in calgary.
1. went to value village, alex bought some nice dress clothes.
2.i did aerobics with caleb. -kathy smith's fat burning workout
3. i got my head shaved
4. played bohnanza (i suck at that game, but i love it)
5. visited angie at work and alex got a hair cut.
6. saw angies little rabbit hole
it really was lots of fun, and was one of the happier times of our trip (not that there were any sad times) i'm sorry.

The Trip Part III
we visited a total of seven cities on our trip, the next one i tell you about is our least favorite. this of course does not mean we didn't enjoy who we visited with, we had plenty of fun with these people, however everytime we looked outside our hearts sank into depresion, the thought of leaving the warm cozy home almost made me sick. the city i am talking about is calgary. maybe it was the weather, maybe it was the overnight drive and rush hour traffic it took to get us there, but that city gave me the worst headache i've experience in a long time. to help you understand our visit to calgary i will give you two top five lists.
top five things i like about calgary
1. mom
2. dad
3. angie
4. caleb
5. jesse
top five things i hate about calgary
1. it takes so long to get anywhere in the city
2. it was cold and rainy
3. and abundance of city slickers wearing prepy cowboy hats
4. i got a headache and i feel one coming on just from thinking about it
5. people where still talking about the flamers.

my trip part II
we,ve had a really busy week, but now all the busy stuff is over(at least for me, not so much for alex) and we can think about having a nice weekend. i don't think we are going to have much of a thanksgiving dinner, mainly because i have to make it and i don't want to try buying a turkey today, nor do i know how to cook one. so, i think i will make pizza and pie.
back to my trip. while i was in P.E.I. i was walking across the football field and i think i stepped on a bee or something. it hurt really bad. my toe swelled up to three times the size. that night i had to dress up and the shoes really hurt my feet. anyways, the next day was far worse, that was the day we had to fly home. i was not looking forward to a long day of walking in airports and wearing tight shoes, so i asked someone if there was anything i could do. this nice lady gave me a packet of allergy pills, so i took one, then i looked down at the packet and it turns out i had just taken an extra strenght tylenol cold and flu, the kind that makes you sleepy. i figured that wasn't going to help my foot so i took an allergy pill on top of that. i don't remember too much of the day, but what i do remember i don't like. i was really dizzy and i could'nt sleep on the plane even though i was so tired. it was hard to walk straight and very difficult to write normally. this lasted the entire day, alex even noticed i was high when i got home about 10 hours after taking the pills.
for those of you who don't know about brandon, the brandon airport is convieniently located in winnipeg. so,after a horrible flight we drove the two hours to brandon. i rode with amelia and janna ( members of my quartet) finally we get to brandon and it's raining and the traffic is bad and there is construction. we drive over a pothole and get a flat tire. so we pull over and get out and see that we have two flat tires. then we look ahead and parked right in front of us is a van that has a flat tire. no one is ever prepared to get two flat tires, luckily she had caa so they can and put her spare on then towed her to canadian tire so she could buy another tire. i think someone wrote a nasty letter to the city of brandon, but i don't think it did any good.

my trip
so, as i kinda mentioned in my last blog, i went on a cross canada trip this summer. first of all i left my sweet husband at home and went to p.e.i. with my quartet. then i went to b.c. and washington with my husband. the trip was long and sleepless but lots of fun. now that it's over and our lives have gotten boring again, i think i will start a series of blogs that will recap our trip across canada.
the national music festival was held in charlottetown pei this year, and surprisingly, our quartet qualified. so, off we went. i had never been to p.ei. and i think i was expecting too much. there was quite a bit of hype before i left, but when i got there i realized it looked just like manitoba. or, this is what one might think if they only spent a day there. the truth is, there were a bunch of little things that made charlottetown the best place in the world.
1. the weather was neither hot or cold, nor did it change at night.
2. it smelled nice.
3. cows look better when they stand on red dirt.
4. people paint their houses bright colours.
5. everything is cluttered with anne of green gables stuff.
6. the cab drivers.
i ended up taking a cab twice when i was there. and both times i had really crazy cab drivers. the first cab driver was a friendly old man. he asked why we were in pei, we told him we were here for the national music festival. he thought that meant that we were in the musical anne of green gables and that i was anne. so, the cab ride was basically him asking us questions about our rehersal schedule and if i like playing anne and how the show went last night. in the mean time he is waving to every guy we pass on the street like he knows them, and driving around road closed signs.
the next cab driver we got one evening very late at night. he was very friendly as well. this time, when we told him why we were here he said, oh you're musicians then you would like it if i sang you a song. then right away he broke into song and sang to us the whole ride home. kinda funny i thought.

The Best Job I Ever Had
I'm not really sure that the above statement is actually true, but apart from the job i have right now, the job i will tell you about is probably the best. up until my big cross-canada trip in august i worked at B&D coffee shop in Virden. I was a waitress/cook. the best thing about the job was the people. mostly old men hung out at the b&d. the same men would come in about two times a day for coffee always at the same table with the same friends and the same time everyday. they always asked how i was doing, how my husband was doing, if i could play cello for them. these same men would give me presents on valentines day and leave me a tip at christmas time. i learned their names; John, John, andy, ralph, larry and john. ( i don't actually know if there were that many johns, but if i didn't know somebodys name i called them john and it seemed to work out okay) i kinda miss those men sometimes, o-well i know i can go visit them anytime cause ten years down the road they will still be having coffee at b&d everyday at 10 and 2.
